You may wonder why.  If you saw the original you would recognize it as a little black and white polariod photo which had been (not too kindly) cropped with scissors.  The significance lies less in its artistic merit than in its chronology.  It’s a picture of Jane (my wife), her sister Dawn and a neighbour, Debbie Healey, all standing on our front step.   I am the photographer.  The occasion is the celebration of my birthday (which actually occurred the following day).  This was the first time Jane and I met and today marks the 50th anniversary of that event.

Interesting that 1966 was also the year in which The Beatles recorded the bulk of Sgt. Pepper (released in 1967).  That included this song (recorded in December)…

A song which now takes on new significance.
