Completing the Circuit

It occurs to me that I’ve mentioned (son) Chris in several posts, most recently for his lyrics/vocals in the last post.  I also mentioned (son) Patrick in a previous entry.  What I didn’t mention was that all of our sons share a musical and visual arts interest.  Pat (and his brothers) thoroughly enjoyed creating cartoons and comic strips in childhood.  Pat has continued that interest into adulthood and still dabbles at it when time permits.  His work has been published in several magazines and his unique wit is very much his trademark.  Here are several examples of his handiwork…

And, during Pat’s tenure with The New Grand, the band released two albums…

The New Grand

Incognito

This is all by way of now introducing our third son, Peter.  Here he is at the piano, with his brothers, providing some Yuletide entertainment for the family…

And, with his family…

Like his brothers, he has always enjoyed visual arts and, although he hasn’t been as active in this pursuit of late (save for the occasional birthday card), he has always displayed a pleasant sense of whimsy (dare I say quirkiness) in his work.  One of my favs is a large (about three foot by four foot) canvas done in high school which I like to call The Boy in the Box… it has a vaguely Paul Simon ring to it!

Like his brothers, Peter has always enjoyed flexing his musical muscles.  Here he is (with friend James as producer) with a couple of songs which he wrote and recorded (guitar, keyboards and vocals) several years ago.

  Everywhere and Nowhere

With that you’ve now met all three lads… and I suspect they’ll pop up from time to time in future posts.
